Medical Imaging and Diagnostics

You have access to all our state-of-the-art medical imaging equipment managed by highly trained and professional staff. We keep you abreast of the latest technology that can be used to help you “Live Better Longer”. These medical imaging services may be ordered, if clinically indicated, by your physician after completing the Seven Stage Screening assessment. They include:

Computed Tomography ( CT ):

During a routine X-ray, dense tissues can block certain areas. A CT scan puts together the different “slices” and clearly shows both bone and soft tissue. This is used to detect tumours and other conditions affecting bones and internal organs, as well as detect the occurrence of strokes, hemorrhages and infections.

Magnetic Resonance Imaging ( MRI ):

Produces high resolution, 3-D, cross-sectional digital images of internal bone structures and soft tissues, including the brain, heart, blood vessels, joints, muscles, ligaments and tendons. It is a non-invasive and painless tool for diagnosing injuries and illnesses. MRI is the preferred modality for most orthopedic applications including imaging of knee, hip, shoulder, wrist and elbow ligaments and tendons, back pain and failed back syndrome.

General Radiography (or X-Ray) and Fluoroscopy:

X-Rays utilize roentgen rays to penetrate the body and record images of organs and structures on film.

Abdominal Ultrasound

A radiology technique that uses high-frequency sound waves to produce images of the abdomen and pelvic organs, including the liver, pancreas, spleen, ovaries, etc. Among other maladies, it can detect cysts, tumours or abscesses in the abdomen or liver, impaired blood flow to the legs, and aneurysms of the aorta.

Bone Mass Densitometry (BMD):

This non-invasive test measures bone density to assess the risk of osteoporosis.
These may be required as follow up to the Health BluePrint.
